Terrible Twos!! You are my I Love You

Help!! I don't think I'm a very big fan of this age. (Just want to make sure you know I'm still a huge fan of my son! :) ) Since Christmas Trey has started saying mine to everything. He even says that outside is his or "mine". I have bruises on my legs from him biting me and he even broke skin on my back. Today he threw a softball right on my toe. OUCH!! and slapped me across the face. He doesn't do it when he is mad at me he'll just randomly come up to me and bite me or slap me. After he hurts me he gives me a kiss, signs sorry and then proceeds to do it again. Timeouts are not working. Does any of this sound familiar to any of you? I am hoping so. What do I do? Please say this is a very short stage!! I've already cried twice from pain in the last two days. Never knew a toddler could be so powerful :) I would love ANY comments ya'll would like to give. (Stina, how do you discipline over there in Sweden? Clara is probably well behaved :))
This book describes how I feel very well. I think it's so cute!
You are my I LOVE YOU by Maryann K Cusimano
I am your parent; you are my child. I am your quiet place; you are my wild.
I am your calm face; you are my giggle. I am your wait; you are my wiggle.
I am your carriage ride; you are my king. I am your push; you are my swing.
I am your audience; you are my clown. I am your London Bridge; you are my falling down.
I am your carrot sticks; you are my licorice. I am your dandelion; you are my first wish.
I am your water wings; you are my deep. I am your open arms; you are my running leap.
I am your way home; you are my new path. I am your dry towel; you are my wet bath.
I am your dinner; you are my chocolate cake. I am your bedtime; you are my wide awake.
I am your finish line; you are my race. I am your praying hands; you are my saying grace.
I am your favorite book; you are my new lines. I am your night-light; you are my starshine.
I am your lullaby; you are my peekaboo. I am your good-night kiss; you are my I love you.

Family Pictures with the Shermans

Over Christmas break Kyle's family took family pictures. Jill Facer took our pictures. Here are some of them. We took them at the San Juan Capristrono train station.

Trey got this cute outfit from his Aunt Donelle. Not the best smile :) but he's still so cute.

This picture was not posed. He did this himself while he was playing and she got the shot. Love it

Everyone Poops

So instead of posting Trey's poop I decided I would save you all and just put up this book :) Anyway, so super exciting news!!! Trey has gone poop in the toilet twice. Around Thanksgiving Trey went pee in the toilet twice but I didn't want to get too excited and I didn't really push it because I thought he was still way to young. But he really shows an interest in going potty. So on Saturday Trey told me that he needed to go poo poo so I took him to the toilet and he went. We tried on Sunday to have him tell us but we were always just a second to late running to the toilet. But this morning he told me he needed to go poop again so I took him to the potty and BAAM, he went! I am so excited! He seems very interested in wanting to go potty in the toilet. He is only 20 months old so I don't want to push it too early and it be a disaster but I haven't pushed it at all and he just is telling me himself. So all you mom's who have gone through this... would you suggest pushing him along or just letting him do his thing since he is so young.
I'm hoping maybe since Trey has been a horrible sleeper, Heavenly Father is blessing me with an easy child to potty train. We'll see. Just a nice thought :)
Side note: the cover of this book has a boy, a horse, and a duck, all of which poop. Then there's the apple. I've never read this book so I don't know how they relate the apple but last time I checked apples didn't poop :)

December 2009

We had a great Christmas this year and a very busy December. Disclaimer: This is a very long post but has lots of pics and two videos if you would prefer to look at those instead of read everything... be my guest :)

The Call's had Christmas on December 5th this year to accommodate for everyone's finals schedules and the wedding. Poor Ben and Kristen did so much driving back and forth from Idaho between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Some of the highlights from the Call Christmas were eating at Tepanyaki's, our traditional aebleskiver breakfast, Trey's little tent and blocks, my beautiful sewing machine (from Lynda and my mom) and Kyle's really warm under armor shirt (he wears every day :)) and his new clippers.

On the 12th of December one of my best friends from high school, Stacy Nelson came up to Utah and we spent the day with her and her kids. We took our little one's sledding. It was a blast. Leah is so cute!! It was Trey's first time sledding and he absolutely loved it. Some boys at the park had built this little jump and I couldn't control the sled and Trey and I accidently went off it. He was laughing hysterically when we landed. We got it on video :) We also built a snowman at the park.

When Kyle got sick we spent the 15th -18th at my parents house so Trey and I didn't go crazy inside our little apartment all day. Grandma Jan ran pulling Trey all over the front lawn in his sled. She was such a trooper! He had sooo much fun.

Kallie got married on December 19th. It was a beautiful wedding and she was a beautiful bride. The Sealing was so special. Draper temple was great but very windy. Poor Kallie in her short sleeve dress! The photographer told us to get reeeally close :) You can see Bradley is like resting his head on Danny's shoulder.

Two days after the wedding we left for California. We drove to St. George and slept there and then drove the final six hours the next morning. Trey was so glad to be out of the car. We just took it easy when we got there the first few days cuz we were all sick. Lucy gave Trey this super cute black pea coat. They wore them to go see Santa. On the 23rd we went to see Santa at the mall with Lucy, Sarah, Troy and the G-parents. It was the babies first time sitting on Santa's lap. We love the kids expressions. :)

Trey got into Mommy's mascara one day. Clearly, he has been watching me do my makeup. He knew where it went :)

Christmas morning we opened presents with Kyle's family and got some wonderful gifts. Trey got an awesome red Tricycle and a lawn mower that blows bubbles. I got this really cute sewing kit. Kyle got some new Rainbow's and some Ugg boots and we got the game Sequence and In a pickle. We also got some rad new Oakley glasses from Bryce.

New Year's Eve Kyle and I went over to the Andre's for a little while and played Scattegories. Then we went home and watched the ball drop. Unfortunately, we spread our germs to Steve and Lynda so they were sick. :(

Last but not least, on New Year's our little family went to the San Juan Capistrano Petting Zoo. Trey got to ride his very first horse, pick up and feed bunnies and guinea pigs, pet and feed goats, llama's, emu's, pigs, cows and see a giant turtle. He had a blast!!!

Mr. Sandman, Please, Please, Please!

We are finally back from Christmas vacation and December is over. PHEWWW! As soon as I get all of my pictures on our computer I will update our vacation and the rest of December. Oh and to update everyone on Kyle's Swine Flu, it turned into Pneumonia. He missed three weeks of school. Only got to take one final. Had to take incompletes for two of his classes and has to take those finals by February 1st. We are happy to say that he is feeling much better than before although he still has pain in his ribs and has a hard time breathing here and there but there has been major improvement.

Right now I want to talk about SLEEP!! I do not function well without my sleep and have a hard time controlling my emotions when I am exhausted. The past two weeks I have had very little sleep. I got a horrible cold again and coughing kept me up most of the night. Then there was Trey. He had a really hard time sleeping in California so Kyle and I were up a lot. When we got home last night, we had to retrain Trey to his schedule. We are back to letting him cry for about 45 minutes before he finally falls back to sleep. Our poor neighbors. Hopefully, every night will get better till he is sleeping through the night again!

I don't know if I can go much longer without a full nights rest. Right now I think the hardest part of being a parent for me is the exhaustion factor. I'm hoping Mr. Sandman remembers all of the songs I have sung to him in my past and will let me get some sleep! :) (p.s. Please excuse
