Swine Flu

Our family has been sick since last Monday. Trey and I are feeling much better besides the bad cough and congestion. However, Kyle has not been able to break it. He went to the doctors today and they told him he had the Swine flu. :( The doctor gave him a note and told him he couldn't go to school or work until at least the 12th. Great timing, right before finals!! :{ So Kyle will be resting in the house all week. Hopefully, he hasn't exposed too many people!

Thanksgiving to the present

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. All three of us have been really sick this week and I had our ward's Quarterly Relief Society Activity to run (I'm the what used to be Enrichment Leader) I've been really busy and exhausted.

So Updates.....
  • Trey is talking a ton more and it's so fun. He will say the prayer now and it's so cute.
  • We had Thanksgiving with my mom's whole side of the family and that was fun, alot of late nights playing games.

  • Kallie went through the temple for the first time in preparation for her sealing on Dec. 19th. It was a special experience to have every member of our family and their spouses in the temple. How cool!!

  • Kyle's parents came up to visit just before Thanksgiving and it was great to see them. We are excited to see his family at Christmas.

  • My Co-ed volleyball team is ranked number one right now and we are in the semi-finals. It's so fun; Tanner Andre, Drew Smith, and Dan Magstadt are on my team. It's nice to have some young blood on the team. I just don't have the speed or energy like I used to.

We have a very busy December with Kallie's Bridal shower, Finals :(, Kallie's wedding, the Call Christmas and then off to california for Christmas with the Shermans, so hopefully I will be able to update in between it all. If not.... HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

A Visit to Rexburg Idaho

We went to Rexburg this weekend to visit Ben and Kristen. They were kind enough to let us invade their apartment and sacrifice their precious sleep as we stayed up late playing and then had to listen to Trey cry through the night. Thanks guys!! We wish we could live closer, we had so much fun.

While we were there we also got to see all of the improvements made to the BYU Idaho campus, see the Rexburg temple for the first time, see my dad's side of the family, Angie and Jared, and I got to play in the Alumni volleyball game. We had a great time in Rexburg but it was SOOOOO cold!! Way colder than it is here in Provo. I got a darn fever blister on my lip from the drastic change in temperature.

Aquage Sea Salt Texturing Product

First, so sorry for the immodest lady. I couldn't get her just from the head up. I am one of those girls with naturally wavy hair. If I let my hair dry naturally it would be a huge frizz ball and it is so difficult to do. I know lots of girls have this problem so this inspired this post. I found this stuff this summer and it is the perfect solution to my problem. This stuff is awesome!! Why?
  • It is fast and easy for those "mom days". My hair can still look good without a lot of effort.
  • You can put it in wet or dry hair, don't need a ton of blow dryer if you don't want to.
  • It doesn't leave your hair crunchy and stiff, hair feels very soft and flowy
  • Increases Volume
  • Gives the fun, wavy, beach look, which I'm a huge fan of.

Here's the website with some simple instructions if you want it. www.aquage.com/Default.aspx?tabid=149

If anyone has any product that they love please share!!

Halloween 2009

We had a really fun Halloween this year. We dressed up as three of the four Madagascar Movie characters. I was Gloria the Hippo, Kyle was Marty the Zebra and Trey was Alex the Lion. :) He was so cute!

We had a ward party on Friday night, we won best Movie costumes and Chili with the most veggies :) Kyle hates Chili cuz he got food poisoning on his mission and this is the only chili I've found that he will actually eat. We love it. It is Rachel Ray's Autumn Harvest Chili. Our ward also had a Thriller dance off so I learned the almost the entire dance. It was really hard but so fun. Trey would laugh at me when I practiced :)

On Saturday, Trey and I went to the Stake Primary activity and then at 5pm we went Trunk or Treating with the Delorey's and Trey's friends Grace and Opal. After we had pizza, dessert and played games. It was a very fun night. Trey was an excellent Trick or Treater and even signed Thank you to everyone that gave him candy. He is such a sweet boy.

Mmmmm, it was good!

Monday nights are soup night at our house. If anyone has a yummy soup recipe they love, I'd love to try it out. Email it to me at ceeceevb@readytek.net
Last night I made homemade potatoe cheese soup and homemade bread bowls. They were both delicious. The soup cooked in the crockpot all day so it had so much flavor. Next time I think I will add a little more liquid to the recipe :) It was pretty thick. Here's the link for the soup recipe http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Creamy-Slow-Cooker-Potato-Cheese-Soup/Detail.aspx.

Exciting news in the Call family this month! Kallie Jean, the last of the Call children, is getting married. My parents will officially be empty nesters. Her fiance's name is Danny Jackson and we all really like him. He is a great guy and will take good care of Kallie. Kallie is getting married on December 19th in the Draper Temple. They met when she worked at Allstate over the summer. Kyle and I are so excited for them! Congrats you guys!! We'll post pictures when we get one of the both of them together :)

Trey Got Tagged

Trey in his new favorite chair from Aunt Malia

Trey and Dad playing in the sand

Uncle Ben making Trey into Peach Jam :)

I turned around and trey had put his plate of BBQ sauce on his head. I think I mop and vacuum almost every day. :)
Trey got tagged!! Here's what he would say if he could. He's definitely got some personality!
1) What is your favorite food? My favorite food is anything carbs and applesauce. I love crackers, toast, and pasta. Oh, and if my mom let's me I love eating daddy's homemade chocolate chip cookies.
2) What are some of your favorite things to do? I love to be outside. During the summer I loved to go swimming and to play at Seven Peaks with Grace and Stefanie. I also love to go feed the ducks and garden with my Grandpa Brad and Grandma Jan in their backyard. (They let me squish the cherry tomatoes between my fingers.)
3) What is one of your pet peeves? I don't like it when mommy and daddy try to feed me. I want to feed myself now. I make a really big mess and don't always get a lot in my mouth but how will I ever learn if they don't let me try!
4) What is your favorite book? That's a hard one. I love to read books. My two favorite books right now are my ABC flip book and The Big Hungry Bear and the Red Ripe Strawberry. I love to say "BOOM, BOOM, BOOM" and "SNIFF, SNIFF, SNIFF, find the strawbery".
5) What do you want to be when you are older? I want to be an athlete when I get older. I love to play with balls. I love to swing a bat, and kick the soccer ball. I also love it when daddy holds me up to the volleyball net and I get to spike the ball on mommy!
6) What nice things do you do for mommy and daddy? I help them clean up my toys and put them in their baskets. I also like to put away their shoes. I give mommy big kisses and yell daddy's name when he comes home from work and give him a great big hug.
7) What naughty things do you do around your house? I like to crush up my cereal into tiny pieces and spread it all over the carpet and couch. I also like to dump my water on the floor. Sometimes when mom's not looking I stand on top of the piano keys and play it with my feet. I think that's soo funny. :)
8) What words do you like saying? I love to say mama, dadda, ball, boom, duck, dog, baby, grandpa, up! down, outside, and no no no no, and lots more too. I am learning to talk right now, I even learned the word volleyball the other day. I'm pretty good at saying it if I say so myself. I still sign a lot of words too.
9) What do you and your daddy do together? Daddy and I like to do piggy back rides, play outside, tickle each other, play baseball, and sneak junk food while mommy isn't looking.
10) What do you and your mommy do together? Mommy and I do almost everything together. She takes care of me during the day. We like to go on walks, go to the library for story time, see the ducks, dance around the house, and have play dates with friends. Mommy also drags me to go shopping. I like to go to Macey's because I get to sit in the car shopping cart and drive while mommy pushes. :)
Thanks for tagging me Grace! It was fun to answer these questions. I tag Lucy Sherman, Emree Andre, and Annie Richards.

Indoor Soccer

Lesson Learned: Try something new or something you're afraid to do and who knows maybe you'll end up LOVING it!

Last winter Kyle and I played on a BYU Coed Intramural soccer team. I was really nervous playing because I haven't played soccer since I was 10. One of the girls on the team asked if I would be interested in playing on a Women's indoor soccer team. I gave her my email but wasn't serious about playing AT ALL. I didn't want the other girls on the team to be like, "aw man, why is she playing with us". Those of you with competitive spirits out there know exactly what I'm talking about. :) My friend Leanne had mentioned to me that she's been wanting to find a team to play with for a while now. I called her and told her about this girl and she immediately signed up. With A LOT of convincing Leanne was able to get me to sign up to play also.

I was sooo nervous the first game. I felt like I was going to throw up! (that was most likely a combination of nerves and being out of shape :) We played in Division 2 of the 4 possible so it was pretty competitive. The seasons are about 9 weeks long. Indoor is so fast paced, you never stop running. It has been exactly what I've needed to help my body get back in some sort of shape. It has also been very emotionally fullfilling as I have been able to do something for myself after taking a break from competitive sports after having Trey. I started playing in April and played two seasons which just ended on Friday. I will definitely miss playing but look forward to another possible summer of indoor soccer.

He Says MOM finally!!

Trey has finally learned to say Mama. I am soo happy. It's the cutest thing to see him sign and say Mama and point at me. I've waited so long. He's been saying Dad for like 6 months. This morning he climbed onto the couch next to where I was sitting and leaned into me saying "Mama" to try and get my attention. Then when I looked at him he said a simple, "Hi" with a great big smile. It was sooo cute.

Home Decor

Kyle's work is remodeling and gave us this shelf for free. I am the worst home decorator and it stresses me out to think about redecorating. Because we live in a small apartment we were limited on where we could put this large shelf but it turned out ok.
We bought live plants for the first time and are really excited. We'll see how long I can keep them alive. One is an Orchid plant and the other is Bamboo. If anyone is talented in the home decor department and would like to come help me out, that would be greatly appreciated. :)

P.S. Family picture #1 is being inserted soon to replace the photo of Kyle and I above. Also, we couldn't decide so we are having a nice collage made of several of the pictures. It will be like a 12x19 and go on top of our entertainment center. Thanks to everyone for voting!

Family Pictures

We finally got family pictures with Trey for our living room. We were so excited about taking these pictures. My visiting teaching companion is an amazing photographer and her and her husband are starting a business in January. We had so much fun but the pictures are all so wonderful we are having a hard time deciding which one or two or three :) to choose. I am going to put a poll on the side and you tell me which one is your favorite :)

July 2009

The first of the month we went to St. George for the 4th with our friends Brittany and Jeremy. It was a ton of fun. We have a cute video of Trey from that weekend that we'll post later :)

I made these purses for my sister-in-laws. For some reason I can't find the picture of the one I made for Sarah, but it was Maroon and really cute. The yellow one is Malia's and the white one is Kristen's. :) I made them out of place mats :) My friend Leanne was kind enough to teach me how and then let me use her sewing machine. Thanks Leanne!

We took a week vacation to California so that we could see Kyle's family and some of our friends. We had so much fun being home. Here are some pics from the vacation. Trey Playing with his cousin Lucy in Grandma Sherman's Backyard

While we were in California I got to play Volleyball at my old high school in the Alumni vs. high school students game. It was so much fun! Although I felt pretty old. The other girls graduated like 5 years after me. :)

Of course we went to the beach. The week we were there the swells got up to 25ft in some places. Yikes!!

We also went to Sea World. It was a lot of fun. We are excited to go back at Christmas time. There was so much to see and not enough time in the day.

Trey got to touch a Sting Ray

Trey loved the Sharks!!

Watching Shamu with Grandma and Grandpa Sherman

When we got home from vacation Trey learned how to climb out of his crib :( We are in a whole new league now!! His crib lowered about 2 more inches but my mom thinks that'll only keep him in for another week and he'll find a way to get out now that he knows he can. What am I going to do? Any advice from you mom's out there?

Trey's One year old Pics

We have so much to blog about for the month of July!! I'm going to have to do it in several post due to lack of time with the little one running around. :) Last week we took Trey to the studio to have his One year old pics. taken. He looks so old :)
